Fundraising Day 21st May 2011 – Update 3 Sheffield FC

Further to our announcement regarding next years Charity Fundraising Day on 21st May 2011, we are pleased to say that the fourth and final team participating in the inaugural Anglo-Celtic Shield and raising money for the Boots for Africa Appeal www.bootsforafrica.org will be our dear friends, the worlds oldest football club, Sheffield FC. www.sheffieldfc.com

Inner Frame has much to thank Sheffield FC for, it was they who allowed us to become supporters of their Boots for Africa Appeal and get into the whole spirit of helping in the community sector which we feel we have now embraced totally.

Sheffield FC have collected 27,504 pairs of unwanted football boots to date, 22,873 pairs have already been shipped to various parts of Africa already. All money raised goes toward the logisitics of getting the boots from the previous owner to the proud new owner in the third world.

So, there you have it, the line up for the inaugural Anglo-Celtic Shield are as follows:-

The North Wales Dragons (Raising money for Neves Charities), The Ayrshire Outsiders (Raising money for CLIC Sargent, Scotland), Buckley Town Football Club (Raising money for Buckley Town FC in the Community), Sheffield Football Club (Raising money for the Boots for Africa Appeal).

Within the teams there will be a few surprises along the way as some ex-professional footballers will be dusting off their boots and taking part in the event, we welcome them with open arms and look forward to having them with us, further details to be announced.

As you can imagine, setting up a project like this comes with its own tasks and demands so, If you would like to help with the organisation of the event in anyway, we are always grateful to anyone who can lend a hand, in whichever way possible.

Unfortunately, as mentioned before,  these events cannot be run without sponsorship, so if you are aware of anyone who would like to become sponsors, please would you be kind enough to put them in touch with us.

We are on the lookout for match sponsors, ball sponsors, event sponsors, sponsor of the Anglo-Celtic Shield, programme sponsors, so as you can see, any assistance will be sincerely appreciated. oh and please dont be shy in coming forward !

It is believed that the day will generate alot of interest from both local and national media, particularly having the oldest football club in the world involved and as a result we feel that any sponsorship will be beneficial to the businesses or individuals.

If you wish to be kept updated on progress towards the fundraising day, please subscribe to the blog (top right hand corner) and you will be updated as and when all the announcements are made.

Thank you so much for your interest.

Fundraising Day 21st May 2011 – Update 1 Ayrshire Outsiders

Further to our announcement regarding next years Charity Fundraising Day on 21st May 2011, we are pleased to say that the second team out of the four participating in the inaugural Anglo-Celtic Shield will be fellow fundraising friends of the North Wales Dragons, the Ayrshire Outsiders of Scotland.

The Outsiders have been visiting Wales over the last two years and have helped in raising money for the Boots for Africa and Help for Heroes Appeals, in 2011 they will be raising money for a charity that cares for children with cancer, Clic Sargent Scotland.

To give you an insight into what the Ayrshire Outsiders do to assist in raising money for these charity’s, they give up their time to travel to and from Scotland to Wales, they bring their wives and girlfriends, they pay for their own food, pay for their own coach hire, their petrol, their own accommodation and raise individual sponsorship on each player, and i for one am in awe of their dedication and commitment.

So, If you would like to help with the organisation of the event in anyway, we are always grateful to anyone who can lend a hand, in whichever way possible.

You knew this bit was coming, but unfortunately, these events cannot be run without sponsorship, so if you are aware of anyone who would like to become sponsors, sponsors of anything at all, please would you be kind enough to put them in touch with us.

If you wish to be kept updated on progress towards the fundraising day, please subscribe to the blog (top right hand corner) and you will be updated as and when all the announcements are made.

Finally, when you get five minutes, please have a look at the Clic Sargent Scotland web site and have a browse, it will then become apparent as to why Inner Frame are pleased to organise and be involved in events such as this and why we are glad that the Ayrshire Outsiders are coming back to Wales.

Charity Fundraising Day – 21st May 2011

Well here we go again ! .. Its only a couple of months since 19th June 2010 came and went and what a fantastic day it was too.

We have started the arrangements earlier, we normally leave it until the first week in January however, because there is more work involved in the 2011 event, we wanted to get into it sooner.

Things have already been set in stone, four teams will be playing on the day in an inaugural tournament known as the Anglo-Celtic Shield, our very own North Wales Dragons (www.northwalesdragons.co.uk) has  formerly announced it will be participating and will be raising funds for Neves Charities (www.neverscharities.co.uk), the three other teams will be announced in the near future.

Once again, gratitude is extended to Buckley Town Football Club (www.buckleytownfc.com) who have allowed for the fundraising day to be held there once again next year.

The evening event will be held at the Faenol Fawr Hotel, Bodelwyddan (www.faenolfawrhotel.co.uk/the_hotel.html) and we are thrilled to have the services of our compere for the evening, Internationally renowned comedian and Life Member of the North Wales Dragons, John Martin.  (www.johnmartincomedy.co.uk)

As always, we shall have a speaker who has a tough act to follow with Barry Horne and Howard Kendall both doing a great  job in entertaining the masses over the past two events.

We will confirm the details of the evening in the near future, however, you can register your interest with us before hand by sending an email to chris@innerframe.co.uk or by calling Chris on tel:- 07840 318231.

If you would like to help in anyway, we are always grateful to anyone who can lend a hand, it can be tough going sometimes and akin to spinning plates but its enjoyable and rewarding, but most of all, all proceeds are going to such a worthy cause.

If you wish to be kept updated on progress towards the fundraising day, please subscribe to the blog (top right hand corner) and you will be updated as and when all the announcements are made.

Finally, when you get five minutes, please have a look at the Neves Charities web site and have a browse, it will then become apparent as to why Inner Frame are pleased to organise and be involved in events such as this.

Why Linkedin Works for us

Networking is something i had never considered, when we first started i remember being quite naive about launching our website, being really hesitant to do so in case i would be snowed under with enquiries, when it finally went live i was so nervous about checking the emails in case the site had crashed through overload but to my amazement and disappointment, there was absolutely nothing ….. I think it was like the tumbleweed scenario after a bad joke !

Following weeks of quietness i knew there needed to be a change in direction about the way we marketed ourselves.

I am not the best at mixing with people i dont know, but heard there was a networking event locally, decided that perhaps the only way of getting our brand known to a doorstep market was to bite the bullet and get out there.

It was worth it, not in as much that there was a sea of people wishing to buy our products, but worth it in as much as there is a platform where relationships can be formed and built, and it is right what they say in that there is always someone who knows someone who wants something.

This is why i personally feel that Linkedin will be a great marketing tool if used effectively. After setting up a group last month, we now have twenty three members, we may not necessarily wish to buy each others products but somewhere along the way, we will probably come across one of our connections that will and this is where i am hoping that this group will come into its own.
Obviously the more members that we have, the more the probability that this will happen.

I have been following a couple of people in the USA who seem really knowledgable on their social media and finding some of their tips really useful, so will post whatever is worth sharing with you as the opportunity arises.

Until then, hope your keeping busy out there !

Going Home to Rome

Pro Appio, Rome - Photo Courtesy of Sheffield FC

Going home to Rome, oh .. i am a poet and didnt know it ! … In fact, i can imagine myself being poetic, being all flambouyant and have flowery words tripping off the tongue but alas, time and tide wait for no man do they ?

This week time, tide and tight deadlines have not waited for us, we have been running around like blue a***d flies AND by the way, where did that expression come from? Wherever it came from, it shall be used in my future collection of poetry.

Interesting commissions so far this week include providing mementos for the forthcoming Derbyshire Senior Cup Final and a great one to present to Liverpool FC.

On the evening of Wednesday 18th March 2010, Sheffield Football Club played Italian side Pro Appio in the Anglo-Italian Invitational Trophy where, one of our mementos was presented to the side visiting from Rome.

We received word that it was greatly appreciated which is extremely satisfying and so good to hear as it is nice to know that people do appreciate what Inner Frame create, and feel that what we produce is worthy of placing in a prominent position for all to see which we know will happen when the memento returns home to Rome.

We have attached a picture of the Pro Appio squad with our memento, presented to them by Sheffield Football Club, the Worlds first football club.

Bring on the Snowdrops

Well the begining of another week … thinking about it, i do hope i can come up with something more original to begin with at the start of each week when i do my blogs, it sounds like i dread the week ahead, but i dont and far from it, quite the opposite in fact.

I can honestly say i am enthusiastic about many aspects of Inner Frame at the moment and for someone who gets the Winter blues, I do not make that remark lightly.

Last week, we started the week off by following a chap called Lewis Howes on Twitter and he has been coming up with various tit-bits on how to grow your business via Social Media, particularly Linkedin, i implemented a few things and it is working already, we have already added some new contacts to our database as a result of his advice, so sincere thanks to Lewis for sharing his wisdom.

http://www.lewishowes.com/

We met Lisa, an illustrator who has come up with a great graphic showing the affiliation between the Help for Heroes and Boots for Africa charities, once the sketch has been shown to the Project Managers of both Charities, we shall let you have a glimpse of what she has done for us.

Many thanks to Heating Controls and Spares of Chester, JV Banks Accountants of Rhyl, Rollinson Smith Insurers of Colwyn Bay and Anglesey Boat Company of Beaumaris who have all purchased Event Sponsorship Draw tickets from us this week, there are still more left, so why not come and do your bit for Helping Our Heroes and Boots for Africa?

Thursday i attended a quiz, which was set up to raise funds for the Charities Ty Gobaith Childrens Hospice and also River & Sea Sense, it was a great night, well attended and im sure raised valuable funds for two worthwhile causes. I won two prizes in a raffle !! … yep … me ! I am normally hopeless at that kind of thing, i won a bottle of wine, but the BEST one was that i won a trip for two adults and two children to go on the Llanberis Lake Railway …… i donated that back to the childrens hospice and asked that they could use it to take two of the children out on it …. was good to have the opportunity to do that.

Back to the quiz, some of the questions were so obscure, I am always first to put pen to paper when the question is asked “Who scored the winning goal in the 1966 World Cup Final” but when we were asked “What is the song that is woken up to every morning on the movie Groundhog Day”, put it this way, the pen went nowhere near the paper !

Its coming up to Spring time and this is where i shake off those Winter blues i mentioned, although in fairness, i havent had any that i could put my finger on this year, perhaps it is all down to the many positive people i have encountered over the Winter period or perhaps it is just me and what the company has been upto that has given me the ability to ride the normal storm.

I have noticed that the days of coming to work in the dark and going home in the dark are over for another year and excuse the pun but that always puts a “Spring” in my step, clocks will “Spring” forward in a few weeks time, the daffodils and the crocus will be out and the best is yet to come, bring on the snowdrops !

A Pretty Good Week

The week went by quickly, alot done and alot of people to thank for their time and effort.

Following the lure and emptyish promise of the odd chocolate digestive or two, Lee Woodford at LGW Consulting came round to see us and gave us some invaluable guidance on this Social Networking stuff. If you get the chance, pop and have a look at his web site or even drop him a line, i know he would be ever so pleased to hear from you.

The next one for a mention is a company called Outperform Training who held a one day Sales Training Course. Now, having never ever done one of these things before i didnt really know what to expect, i had some kind of idea but i was way off the mark … I had visions of someone posing with a a bottle sat in the palm of one hand and a finger perched on the top of the lid, whilst thrusting the label towards you saying something like “Dont leave until they buy”.

As i said, how way off the mark could i have been? Dawn, the young lady delivering the presentation was articulate and quick and had a definite methodology utilising AIDA and was ably assisted by Rachel the Operations Manager, at the end of the day we had learned alot thanks to their delivery.

Another mention goes to Lisa Williams, an illustrator from Colwyn Bay, she has been kind enough to come up with an illustration that shows the connection between two charities, Help for Heroes & Boots for Africa of which we are trying to raise funds for on 19th June 2010. Not only has she come up with an illustration, she has also been kind enough to donate the image to Inner Frame, so that we can do whatever we want with it and for this we are sincerely grateful.

We were supposed to go over to Sheffield FC tomorrow to meet the Boots for Africa Project Manager and the Chairman to discuss the latest situation with regard to the appeal in Wales, however, for the fourth time and due to the weather, it has had to be cancelled.
